The Governor’s office has just released the final list of 450 TDOT proposed projects statewide to be funded with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds (Recovery Act), proposed bridge bonds and TDOT’s regular budget funding. There are five projects for Loudon County.

Commissioner of Transportation Gerald Nicely was quoted, “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) allows our department to improve the state's transportation infrastructure and to help our private sector partners retain and add more jobs for Tennesseans. We hope that this one time infusion of federal funds will help carry us through this difficult period until our economy recovers."

Tennessee received $572 Million in stimulus money. State lawmakers must still vote on the TDOT budget request; the State Senate is scheduled to vote on this issue next week.
