Good Planning, Community Character and High Quality Design Standards
Components for good development, quality neighborhoods and community
Welcome to Loudon County, Tennessee, Lakeway to the Great Smoky Mountains. The landscape in our community is quickly changing from tranquil pastoral farms and open green spaces to a developers mica. Lenoir City and Loudon County is known for its numerous lakes and streams, many of which, are now polluted.
Witness firsthand the transformation of beautiful green spaces and hillsides. I'll share growth and planning issues and how this affects our community's quality of life.
Other issues that I'll share will look at the affects of growth and high-density development, which add to over-crowding of schools, crime, gridlock, air and noise pollution, drainage and flooding and litter issues, just to name a few. And when possible, I'll share pictures of before, during and afterwards as the community changes. Sprawling development is costly to government. Good planning that involves people and neighborhoods in the decision making process is essential to well planned community's that preserve the natural beauty and open space.
