MEETINGS OF INTEREST SCHEDULE & CANCELLATIONS
August 8, 2014 Friday - Loudon County Commission Meeting, 6:00 p.m. Annex. Commission to vote on the adoption of FY 14-15 Budgets & Tax Levy Resolution.
The Loudon County Budget Committee voted to return 4 cents to Loudon County property taxpayers. This will still permit Loudon County to issue an additional $10 Million for Phase 2 School Building program (Loudon High School expansion, Highland Park renovation, Eaton North Middle Traffic) for Loudon County Schools. In 2011, Commission voted to increase property taxes by 20 cents for Phase 1 School Building program, which resulted in two new schools (Greenback and Ft. Loudoun Middle School), Philadelphia School Cafeteria renovation, and Loudon Elementary - Ft. Loudoun renovation and two new athletic facilities (Greenback $1 Million and Loudon High School $524,000).
August 7, 2014 Thursday - 9:00 a.m. County Office Bldg., Loudon County Budget Committee met to review the proposed FY 14-15 Budget and voted to return 2.8 cents to Loudon County and Lenoir City property taxpayers. The Budget Committee voted to decrease the Loudon County Board of Education's Operating Budget based on the Maintenance Of Effort (MOE) because of a reduction of students.

(CANCELLED) July 31 Thursday 9:00 a.m. County Office Building, 100 River Rd., Loudon Budget Committee Meeting to review Public Hearing comments and make the final revision of the budget document and prepare copies for presentation to the Loudon County Commission for the August 4, 2014 Commission meeting.
July 31 Thursday, 6:30 p.m., Courthouse Annex - Loudon County Corrections Partnership Committee (a/k/a Jail Study Committee). Presentation & Public Hearing. Public comment on Jail & Justice Center proposals and recommendations by Moseley Architects & J. E. Hodge Engineering.
(Note: At the suggestion of Commissioner Don MIller (non-member CCPC) all new commissioners elect and new mayor elect will be invited to attend a separate presentation of the Jail Feasibility Study at the Annex Courthouse prior to the Public Hearing. After repeated requests to post the Jail Feasibility Study to the Loudon County gov website and assurance that the Study would be posted to the website, the Loudon County Corrections Partnership Committee (a/k/a Jail Study Committee) failed do so.
