Harrison rd.

Do you live along or travel up and down Harrison Road?

Tuesday's (Oct. 7th) Lenoir City planning agenda is full of rezoning requests. The property known as the old Bart Eldridge Farm,Dr. Bob property-TETRA, is requesting rezoning.

If you live in the Harrison Rd vicinity or travel anywhere near the Lenoir City High School you may want to attend the planning meeting to hear how the planning department will address additional traffic, drainage and other planning and quality of life issues.

Planning and city officials, don’t want to discuss widening Harrison Rd. until after the Lenoir City Elections but development from the Eldridge Farm-Dr. Bob-TETRA property will bring more traffic to Harrison Rd., Loudon Ridge Rd. and to Sugarlimb. All the emergency vehicles already use Sugarlimb, Loudon Ridge, Harrison Rd.  With the proposed new road to be located somewhere on the old Eldridge farm, Dr. Bob-TETRA property, expect more traffic from Highway 321 onto Kingston and/or Harrison Rd.

One other question, how will financially strapped Lenoir City provide services to this large area when City Hall can't even manage to fund a full-time $50,000 employee salary and benefits position for the codes enforcement office? Click to read Employee on Hold and hear Mayor Matt discuss the City's finances and why the Codes Officer has to wait to hire an employee for her office.

Concerned about the Harrison Rd./Kingston Intersection?
