THE HUNTER REPORT
Picture by Pat Hunter - UT Lifestar landing at pad behind Loudon County Justice Center
On my way home from Loudon County Commission, traffic came to a complete halt due to emergency vehicles at Carl's Drive In. The ambulance went ahead. As traffic stopped again at the intersection of Lee Highway and Sugarlimb, drivers were waiting to turn and looking at UT Lifestar hovering over the Justice Center. UT Lifestar landed on the heli-pad behind the Justice Center. While stopped waiting on traffic, I had an opportunity to snap a quick picture. I later learned about the child that was struck by a vehicle.
According to WVLT TV, " A Loudon County girl was recovering Monday night after being hit by a car while riding her bicycle earlier that evening. Authorities said it happened around 6:45 p.m. while the eight year old was biking in front of Carl’s Drive-In on E. Lee Highway in the City of Loudon. Reports from the scene indicate she was hit from behind and thrown nearly 10 feet in the air. Lifestar was called in and the girl was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. As of late Monday night, her name and condition had still not been released."
