THE HUNTER REPORT
CIVIL SERVICE BOARD HEARING
FEB. 3, THURSDAY
Lenoir City Hall
LENOIR CITY COUNCIL MEETING NOV. 22, 2010
BY: PAT HUNTER
At the Nov. 22, 2010 Lenoir City Council meeting, an Executive Session was called towards the end of the meeting, which lasted about 6-7 minutes.
At the request of Mayor Tony Aikens, City Attorney James Scott informed the public that a confidential civil service issue was brought to his attention.
The civil service governing body would have to address an appeal but that no names or issues were mentioned to comply with various privacy issues and civil service regulations. In the event, the matter went beyond a civil service matter, Mayor Tony Aikens would withdraw from any consideration.
The Public Notice (above) appeared in the local newspaper. The Lenoir City Civil Service Board will hold a meeting on Thursday February 3 at 7:00 P.M. at Lenoir City Hall, 600 E. Broadway, to hear an appeal filed by a X city employee following termination of employment.
Just one day before the hearing, no information was released to me regarding the name or nature of appeal pending before the Civil Service Board.
