With very few citizens or parents in attendance, the Loudon County Board of Education met on Valentines Day (Feb. 14th) with TSBA Assistant Director and Legal Council Randy Bennett to go over the wording on the brochure, which will be used in the Loudon County Director's Search.

The Loudon County Board of Education signed a contract with the TSBA giving the ok to assist with Director's Search; cost of professional services $5,000.

School board members spoke for 25 minutes regarding changing the wording on the brochure. A motion was made to take the last sentence out of the draft brochure.

Van Shaver also spoke about the back center panel area of the brochure, application process and screening committee. Shaver wanted to know if the school board would see all the applications. TSBA will screen the applicants and make a recommendation of 4-5 but will show all the applicants to the school board. The salary range will be between $90,000 to $120,000 for a medium school system.

The draft brochure will include the school board's input and vote and placed on the TSBA website on Tuesday.

(NOTE: The draft brochure and contract were not available for the public to see but a public records request was made to view the timeline and contract)
